Introduction

After having studied, worked and lived in North America for 13 years, moving back to Pakistan was one of the most difficult decisions I ever made.  In the articles posted on this website, I have tried to capture, as best as I can, my reasons and motivations for moving back.  I have attempted to provide guidance to other expatriate Pakistani who are contemplating the same thing.  I have tried to answer many pseudo-myths and many do’s and don’ts, which I hope will provide guidance to others, and I have also tried to address many fears and concerns and the overall complexity of this decision making process.

Like I said, this is an extremely complex decision, which most people are unable to make; however, from my experience, they talk about it so much, they dream about it so much, they plan for it so much, but eventually become overwhelmed by the complexity and get caught in the day-to-day things so much, that they lose sight of it, and give up on it.

Moving back to Pakistan is also one of the favourite discussion topics of the expatriate Pakistanis.

Through this blog, I want to encourage expatriate Pakistanis to move back to Pakistan, but at the same time, I want to appeal to them with reason and accurate information about the state of affairs of Pakistan, difficulties, and the issues that they will face.

Every now and then I will post related articles looking at the world with a Pakistani expatriate’s eye.

I hope the readers find this blog simple and useful.
